Ganemat, Sheeraj, Anantjeet remain in the medal race | Live Updates, Unveiling the Latest India News Trends

Lonato del Garda, June 17 (HS). Ganemat Sekhon in women's skeet and Sheeraz Sheikh and Anantjit Singh Naruka in men's event remain in the medal race after completing four out of five rounds of qualification at the ongoing International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Shotgun in Lonato del Garda, Italy.

On Sunday, Ganemat scored a total of 95 (25,22,25,23) over two days with rounds of 25 and 23, placing her currently in ninth place. USA's Dania Jo Vizzi and Sweden's Victoria Larsson are in the top two spots with scores of 97 each. The top six will advance to the final.

In men's skeet, Sheeraj and Anantjeet have both also shot 97 after four rounds and though they are 19th and 21st going into the final day, they too are just two shots off the pace. Five shooters have shot 99 so far, led by Chile's Hector Andres Flores Barahona, at the top of the leaderboard.

Sheeraz, after his two perfect rounds on Saturday, shot 22 and 25 today, while Anantjeet was even more accurate with 25 and 24.

Among the other Indians competing, veteran Mairaj Ahmad Khan shot a total of 90 points with rounds of 20 and 24 in men's skeet to be placed 87th. Maheshwari Chauhan and Riyaza Dhillon shot 89 and 88 points respectively with rounds of 20, 25 and 20, 22 in women's skeet and look out of the race at the moment.
