Funeral of Iranian President who died in helicopter crash to be held in Mashhad on Thursday


Tehran, May 21 (HS). The funeral of Iran's President, who died in a helicopter crash, will be held in the holy city of Mashhad on Thursday. The organization that is responsible for the ceremonies and services related to martyrs in the country has started preparations for it in Mashhad.

The organization has informed that the first funeral rites will be performed ceremoniously from Shohada Square to Mosalla in Tabriz city today at 9:30 am in East Azerbaijan province. After this, the ceremony will take place from the holy place of Hazrat Masoumeh to Jamkaran Mosque in Qom city. In the next phase, last rites will be held at Imam Khomeini's Mosallah in Tehran. The next day, Wednesday, the final prayer will be held in Tehran at 7:30 am. After this the burial procession will move from Tehran University to Azadi Square.

In the afternoon, there will be a ceremony in honor of the martyrs in the presence of foreign dignitaries. South's last farewell ceremony will be held in Birjand on Thursday from 8:00 am. President Ibrahim Raisi will be laid to rest in the holy city of Mashhad in the afternoon.
