FSSAI issues warning to crack down on traders who artificially ripen mangoes

The summer season is at its peak. People eagerly wait for mangoes in this season. But do you know that the mangoes you eat are artificially ripened? It proves to be harmful for health in many ways. Keeping this in mind, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has cracked down on traders ripening fruits in this way. These traders have been warned by the department.

According to the information, calcium carbide chemical is used to ripen mangoes, which causes a lot of harm to health. FSSAI has issued a warning for those who use it. Actually calcium carbide is already banned in India. Strict action was taken against it in the year 2006 itself. According to the rules of FSSAI, strict action will be taken against those who tamper with food.
