From LPG to credit card… rules have changed from today, the effect will be seen on every home and pocket

The month of July is over and August has started today. With this, many big changes have been implemented in the country from the first date till now. These are such changes which will affect everything from your kitchen to your bank. On the one hand, there has been a change in the price of LPG cylinder, on the other hand, new rules have been implemented from HDFC Bank Credit Card rules to Fastag. First change: LPG price hike
The month of August has started from today and on August 1, 2024, there will be a shock of inflation on LPG gas cylinders. After the budget, oil marketing companies have increased the prices of LPG cylinders. This time there has been a change in the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinders, while the prices of 14 kg domestic gas cylinders remain the same this time too. From Thursday 1, commercial LPG cylinder has become costlier by Rs 8.50.

Last month, the price of commercial LPG cylinder was reduced by Rs 30. If we look at the new rates after the recent change, according to the IOCL website, the price of 19 kg LPG cylinder in the capital Delhi has increased from Rs 1646 to Rs 1652.50, in Kolkata from Rs 1756 to Rs 1764.5, in Mumbai it has increased from Rs 1598 to Rs 1605 and in Chennai it has now increased from Rs 1809.50 to Rs 1817.

Second change- Penalty will be imposed for filing ITR
The second change implemented from the first date is related to income tax, in fact, if you have not filed your ITR by 31 July 2024, then now you will have to pay this fine. According to the guidelines of the Income Tax Department, taxpayers can file ITR late till the end of the year i.e. 31 December 2024. This will be paid with a penalty. If your income is less than Rs 5 lakh, then the penalty for filing ITR can be Rs 1,000 and if your income is more than Rs 5 lakh, then the penalty can be up to Rs 5,000.

Third Change – HDFC Bank Credit Card
The August 1 date also brings changes for users of HDFC Bank credit cards, the largest private sector bank. Basically, if the fare payment is made through HDFC Bank credit cards via third-party apps like CRED, Paytm, Mobikwik, Freecharge and others, a 1% fee will be charged on the transaction and the limit per transaction will be raised to Rs 3,000. There will be no additional charge on fuel transactions below Rs 15,000, however, transactions above Rs 15,000 will attract a 1% fee on the total amount.

Fourth change – Google Maps charges
Google Map is also going to change its rules in India from August 1, 2024. Which is going to be implemented in the whole country from the first date. Actually, the world's largest search engine has announced a 70 percent cut in the fee of its Google Map service in India. Apart from this, now Google will take payment in Indian Rupees instead of dollars for its map service.

Fifth change – 13 days of bank holidays
If you have any bank related work in the month of August, then before leaving home, check the list of bank holidays issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Actually, according to the list of bank holidays for August, banks will remain closed for 13 days in the entire month. Banks will remain closed due to various occasions like Rakhi, Janmashtami and Independence Day. These holidays also include weekly holidays falling on second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays.

Sixth change: Changed rules for FASTag
New rules are going to be implemented for vehicle drivers from today. Actually, the FASTag KYC process has to be completed between August 1, 2024 and October 31, 2024. From August 1 to October 31, companies have to fulfill the conditions of NPCI, which includes updating KYC for FASTags older than three to five years and replacing FASTags older than 5 years. This process has started from August 1 and customers have to update their KYC before October 31.
