Setting a new milestone in the history of Indian politics, the Union Cabinet has passed an important resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years of continuous leadership as the head of the government. More than just a formal honour, the Cabinet has termed the visit as an extraordinary and inspiring journey guided by the core principles of ‘Nation First and Citizen First’. This historic achievement reflects the unwavering faith of the people of the country in Prime Minister Narendra Modi through three consecutive big mandates received by the people in Gujarat and the huge support given by the people in three consecutive Lok Sabha elections at the Centre.
In this 10-point resolution passed, the main features and achievements of Prime Minister Modi’s leadership have been underlined. On the national security front, he has been especially praised for setting new boundaries in the country’s defense policy through decisions like surgical strikes, air strikes and ‘Operation Sindoor’ of 2025. Along with this, removal of historic Article 370, implementation of ‘One Rank One Pension’ (OROP) scheme, creation of the post of Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) in the country, decisive action against Maoist terrorism and efforts for permanent peace in North-East India speak of the strong will of this leadership.
Referring to India’s growing credibility and diplomatic success in international forums, the resolution said that the Prime Minister has played an important role in establishing mutual cooperation between countries despite various global differences. Building consensus at the G20 and BRICS summits, strongly supporting the interests of developing and backward countries at the global level, and making the African Union a permanent member of the G20 highlight his visionary diplomatic leadership to the world. The highest honors given to the Prime Minister by more than 36 countries of the world testify to India’s growing influence on global platforms.
Talking about the vision of Prime Minister Modi, it has been said in the resolution that development and welfare of the common people has always been at the center of his political life. This vision of development, which started as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, has today spread on a big canvas across India as the Prime Minister of the country. The compassion that the Prime Minister has towards the poor, who has seen the struggles of poverty very closely in his personal life, has today taken the form of government schemes. Health services like pucca houses, tap water at every home, Jan Dhan bank accounts and Ayushman Bharat for crores of poor people of the country have completely changed the lives of the common people.
Apart from this, the credit for empowerment of all sections of the society and opening new doors of progress for them also goes to this 25 year tenure. From the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme to ensuring 33 percent reservation for women in Assemblies and Lok Sabha, promoting startup culture in the country, comprehensive reforms in skill development and education have changed the face of the country.
The Cabinet has also openly appreciated his commitment to take big and tough decisions in the national interest, regardless of the political risks. Implementing tax systems like the Goods and Services Tax (GST), bringing transparency in the distribution of welfare schemes and bringing in new laws by abolishing old colonial laws linked to the slavery mentality of the country reflect his long-term determination.
Along with this, the Prime Minister’s special attachment towards cutting-edge technology has given birth to a digital revolution in the country. The trinity of Jan Dhan, Aadhaar and Mobile (JAM Trinity) has revolutionized the system of transferring money from government schemes directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, while UPI has changed the entire map of India’s digital payment system. This journey of 25 years has proved to give India a strong foundation of a strong, modern and ‘self-reliant India’.
