Getting treatment in private hospitals in India is quite expensive and the bill after admission can reach lakhs of rupees, due to which many people are not aware of its cost. It becomes challenging for the poor and common people to afford complete medical treatment. To solve this problem, the Central Government started Ayushman Bharat Scheme, in which free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh will be available. Today we are throwing light on some benefits of this Ayushman scheme.
Coverage up to Rs 5 lakh:
Ayushman Bharat scheme is one of the largest health schemes in the world, with millions of people having Ayushman cards. The primary benefit of this scheme is that it provides coverage up to Rs five lakh for treatment of various diseases in private hospitals. Any amount exceeding Rs 5 lakh will have to be borne by the individual. However, not all major private hospitals are covered under the scheme.
No family limits:
Under this scheme, there is no limit on the size of the family that can avail it. It provides coverage to all family members without any restrictions. Additionally, there is no age limit, making it possible for both children and elderly family members to receive treatment.
Cashless Treatment:
Unlike many insurance policies, where you have to pay first and claim reimbursement later, Ayushman Bharat scheme offers complete cashless treatment. From the time of hospitalization till discharge, individuals do not have to pay any money from their own pocket.
Extensive coverage from rural to urban India:
The Ayushman Bharat scheme aims to cover people from rural to urban areas, with a special focus on reaching the poor and extremely deprived sections of the society. The government aims to enroll around 50 crore people under this scheme.
