'Friendship with India is good': Pakistan's leading businessman gives advice to Shahbaz Sharif

Karachi: Pakistan's business leaders have requested Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to improve relations with India and increase trade and commerce with it to improve the economic condition of the country. In an interactive session with Sharif, he said that our country, which is facing cash crunch, will benefit economically by improving relations with India and increasing trade with it.

In a meeting held at 'Sindh House' here on Wednesday, businessmen appreciated the Prime Minister's determination to improve the economic condition of the country, but said that the first requirement for improving the economy is political stability.

According to the newspaper Dawn, a meeting was held with these prominent businessmen to increase exports in the country. However, his resolution faced apprehensions from the business industry land.

Arif Habib, Chairman of Arif Habib Group, a leading company of Pakistani capital market and known as 'Zoonzoonwala' of Pakistan, said, 'After taking charge, he has made some agreements and has also got good results. The agreement with the IMF is one of them but I suggest that it is in our interest to re-establish trade relations with India. Our economy will benefit greatly. Second, he should also join hands with Adiyal Jailnavis (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan. And the system will have to be streamlined at the highest level, I am confident that you will be able to do so.

In fact, in 2019, when India removed Article 370 of the Constitution on Kashmir, removed its special status and divided it into two parts, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and declared both as Union Territories, Pakistan stopped commercial trade with India. Relationships were stopped and reduced. Diplomatic relations, but it has suffered losses.

Sharif has invited these businessmen to Islamabad as soon as possible for talks to resolve the issues.
