Free health checkup camps will be organized for Divyang children from 10th in all the blocks of the state

Ranchi, June 9 (HS). Under the Assistance Scheme for Purchase, Fitting of Assistive Devices to Disabled Persons (ADIP Scheme) operated under Inclusive Education, free health check-up and assistive device distribution camps will be organized for disabled children up to 18 years of age in all the blocks of the state from June 10 to September 05 for the financial year 2024-25.

State Education Project Director Aditya Ranjan said that Jharkhand Education Project Council will organize check-up camps for handicapped children on different dates in all blocks with the help of Artificial Limb Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), Bhubaneswar. For this, five teams of ALIMCO will work in all the blocks of the state. Each team will include experts of different categories and will participate in the check-up camps to be organized in the blocks on the scheduled dates.

Before organizing the check-up camps, it will be ensured by the district and block that all the handicapped children of the block who need the above mentioned assistive devices can participate in the camp, so that maximum number of needy children can take benefit from these camps. It will be the responsibility of the district and block level personnel to ensure that the handicapped children receiving home-based education also get the necessary assistive material during this check-up camp. The check-up/distribution camp will be organized from 9 am to 5 pm.

Disabled children up to 12 years of age can get assistive devices again

In the free health checkup and assistive equipment distribution camps, disabled children up to 12 years of age who received assistive equipment or were examined last year are eligible to receive assistive equipment again or they can avail the benefit of free checkup again this year. But the benefit of distribution of assistive equipment again will be available only to disabled children up to 12 years of age.

The task given to the officials was the responsibility of bringing the handicapped children to the camp

For monitoring the camps for free health checkup or distribution of assistive devices by Jharkhand Shiksha Pariyojana Parishad, Block Education Extension Officer, Resource Teacher, Therapist, BRP, CRP and teachers of schools in the catchment area of ​​the identified disabled children, Head Teacher, Village Education Committee have been given the responsibility of identifying the needy children and bringing them to the camps. To facilitate the children in coming to the camps, the officials will also ensure the arrangement of vehicles as per the requirement. It will have to be ensured that all the disabled children of that area are present in each camp. The responsibility of bringing and taking the disabled children to the camp has been fixed on the teachers and CRP. Adequate arrangements of food and drinking water will also be made for the children in the camp.

Children attending the camps must bring the following documents with them

Children coming to the camp will have to bring two copies of their photographs, photocopy of disability certificate, Aadhar card of the child or his/her parents, income certificate or disability scholarship certificate. If a child does not have an income certificate, then the certificate can be obtained from the concerned village head/mukhiya. In case the disability certificate is not available, the child will be provided a disability certificate with the joint signature of the head teacher of the school, authorized officer of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, representative of ELIMCO and government medical officer. There will be arrangement of couch bed and wheel chair at the camp site. In this camp, arrangement of necessary materials including audio meter has been ensured for hearing impaired children.
