How does this fraud happen?
- Scam call:
Fraudsters call, posing as bank officials, and say, “Your credit card limit can be increased.” - Phishing Website:
The fraudsters send you a link that looks like the bank’s real website. - Information Theft:
After clicking on that fake site, you are asked for sensitive information like credit card number, email, PAN card, Aadhar number, card validity and CVV. - Fraud:
As soon as the information is received, the fraudsters buy expensive mobile phones, gold and silver coins and other items from your card.
Noida Police made a big disclosure
Recently, Noida Police has exposed one such big fraud.
- Police have arrested 6 members of this gang.
- The mastermind of the gang, who had created a fake banking website and fake app, is still absconding.

Fraudsters already had some information about credit card holders, due to which people fell into their trap. - Use of fake site:
The fraudsters would create a website that looks like a banking portal and ask victims to click on it. - Data Theft:
Sensitive information was stolen as soon as the site or app was downloaded.

Noida Police has advised all credit card holders to remain alert to avoid such frauds:
- Ignore unknown calls.
- Think carefully before clicking on any link.
- Verify any information related to the bank through official channels.
- Avoid downloading fake websites and apps.
- Do not give information like CVV, OTP or PIN to anyone.
