Fraud in the name of crop insurance, tribal farmers are being cheated

Umaria, 9 October (Hindustan Reporter). A case of fraud with farmers in the name of Prime Minister Crop Insurance has come to light. The manager and administrator of the cooperative society together made a fake loan of Rs 80 lakh in the name of tribal farmers and withdrew the money. Farmers are now pleading for justice.

For information, let us tell you that the matter is of Pali tribal block of Umaria district, where in the year 2022, by the then manager of Farmers Service Cooperative Society Pali, Hari Niwas Pandey and Administrator Chandra Mani Dwivedi, villages Sarwahi Kala, Sarwahi Khurd, Bannauda, ​​Barbaspur, Chhindha, About 80 tribal farmers of Salaiya 2, Goyra were made to submit their loan books in the name of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and signatures and thumb impressions were obtained on blank papers. Later, a KCC was formed in the name of those farmers and a loan of about Rs 75 to 80 lakh was made. The manager and administrator together withdrew the amount. On February 28, 2023, the then manager Hari Niwas Pandey retired and administrator Chandra Mani Dwivedi got himself transferred to Manpur block and there too along with the manager of Kotri, he committed a scam worth lakhs.

At the same time, when the second manager took charge of the Farmers Service Cooperative Society, seeing such a long loan amount, he reached the houses of the tribal farmers to recover the amount. When the farmers came to know that they were debtors worth lakhs of rupees, the ground slipped from under their feet. After that, the tribal farmers are continuously pleading from Police Station Pali to the Chief Minister, but no one is listening. Not only this, even after visiting the house of an old lady who is unable to walk, her thumb was taken and a loan of Rs 1 lakh 10 thousand was made on her.

In this matter, Additional Collector Shiv Govind Markam says that the application given to the Collector will be investigated and action will be taken on whatever comes to light.

In this case, Additional SP Pratipal Singh Mahobia said that some time ago we had received a complaint against Manager Hari Niwas Pandey and Administrator Chandra Mani Dwivedi, in this we are still trying to get the original documents from that department. Original documents have not been received, some action will be taken only after the documents are received.
