An initiative of Chiripal Foundation to promote the young cricket talent of Gujarat, SGVP has organized a franchise base Cricket Premier League tournament between six teams for the first time. The six teams include Sabarmati Strikers, Ahmedabad Arrows, Karnavati Kings, Heritage City Titans, Narmada Navigators and Gandhinagar Lions. Former Gujarat Ranji Trophy captain Kirit Damani has become part of the organizing committee. Former Joint Secretary of GCA and former BCCI member Hitesh Patel (Pochi) has been appointed as the Tournament Director. Former GCA President and MP Narhari Amin said he was pleased with the excellent platform provided for the youth by Ronak Chiripal. The winning team will be awarded Rs 5 lakh, the runner-up will be awarded Rs 2.5 lakh, the Man of the Series will be awarded Rs 51,000 and the Man of the Match will be awarded Rs 10,000. The player who takes the most wickets, runs and catches during the tournament will be given a prize of Rs 25,000 each. The players who perform well in this tournament will also be kept in the eye of the selectors in the selection of state teams for various national tournaments including Ranji Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
