ICC announces future schedule of women's cricket: Taking an important decision regarding women's cricket, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the schedule for 2025-2029. Which has been named Future Tours Program (FTP). This initiative will be part of the ICC Women's Championship cycle. Under which 44 ODI series will be played among women cricketers in the next 4 years. But the most interesting part of this initiative is that an ICC tournament for women cricketers will be organized every year from 2025-2029.
This program has been decided in view of the 2029 Women's Cricket World Cup. 11 teams will participate in this. Zimbabwe team will debut in this tournament. Which will contribute to the development of women's cricket at the global level. In the next four years, each team will play four ODI series at home and four on foreign soil. In this way, a total of 44 series will be played, in which each series will be of 3 matches. That means a total of 132 matches will be played between all the teams.
The FTP will ensure that more matches are played in women's international cricket over the next four years. This program will start after the 2025 Women's Cricket World Cup. More than 400 international matches will be played between women's cricket teams during 2025-2029.
India will host the Women's Cricket World Cup in 2025. Women's T20 World Cup will be played in 2026. Till now the Champions Trophy was organized only in men's cricket. But for the first time in the year 2027, women's cricket teams will also compete to win the Champions Trophy. T20 World Cup will be played again in the year 2028. This women's championship cycle will end in the year 2029.
