Four workers died in an accident on Thursday in Lahan Dhaka of East Champaran district in Bihar. All the deceased were opening the centering of a toilet tank built in a house under construction. While opening the centering of the newly built toilet tank, seven people fell unconscious after being buried under the debris. All were immediately taken to Dhaka hospital for treatment where doctors declared four dead during treatment, while three others are undergoing treatment in critical condition. There was chaos on the spot after this incident.
Sikarna SDM told our East Champaran correspondent that all four labourers were brought to Dhaka subdivisional hospital in an unconscious state. Where they died. The incident took place in Lahan Dhaka of Dhaka Municipal Council area. On receiving the information of the incident, a large number of local people reached Dhaka hospital and vandalized the hospital alleging that the deaths were due to negligence in treatment. Seeing the uproar of the angry people, the doctors and staff fled.
However, the anger of the people did not subside and these people also created a ruckus at the private clinic of the Deputy Superintendent of Dhaka Hospital. On receiving the information, they also clashed with the police who reached the spot and started pelting stones at the police, after which the police had to resort to lathi charge. It was told about the incident that this accident happened while opening the centering of the toilet of the under-construction house of Mahavir Thakur in Lahan Dhaka. The deceased have been identified as Abdul Bakar, Husnain Ansari, Wasi Ahmed Ansari and Yogendra Yadav.
