East Champaran, 10 September (HS). A case has been registered against four people including the CSP operator in the case of electricity theft. Junior engineer Raghavendra Prasad has filed a case by giving an application in Turkailia police station.
It has been stated in the application that Daroga Pathak of Chargaha was stealing electrical energy by bypassing the meter by cutting the service wire before the meter in his premises. Due to which the department has suffered a loss of Rs 49628. Ganesh Ram of the same village was illegally stealing electricity from SBI's CSP without a licence. Due to which the department has suffered a loss of Rs 20634. Similarly in Senwariya village, innocent people were illegally stealing energy by bypassing the meter. Due to them, the department has suffered a loss of Rs 50349 due to dues and energy theft. Energy was being stolen by bypassing in the house of Akbari Begum of the same village.
The department has suffered a huge loss due to the outstanding dues and theft. Turkaulia's in-charge police station chief Soni Kumari said that FIR has been registered and further action is being taken.
