Jaunpur, July 20 (HS). The court of Additional Sessions Judge First Anil Kumar Yadav on Saturday convicted four accused of murder over a drinking dispute in Sujanganj police station area a year ago and sentenced them to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 30,000 each.
Plaintiff Parvez Ahmed lodged a case in Sujanganj police station that on March 7, 2023, at 4 pm, in his village Dalupur, police station Sujanganj, Shani Singh alias Rajneesh, Toofani, Rajneesh alias Nanhka Bhaiya and Sujit of his village were drinking alcohol sitting on the bonnet of his Bolero parked in front of his house. They were making obscene gestures looking at the women of his house. On protesting, his uncle Jamaluddin was kicked, punched and beaten with sticks. They threatened that they will come again. At 7:30 pm, the accused came fully prepared and Sujit and Toofani attacked with pistols in their hands and others armed with sticks. Plaintiff's father Kamal Hussain was hit on the head with an iron rod and left in a dying condition, while his mother Mehrunnisa, Sarfaraz, Sitara and nine-year-old niece Sanaya were beaten and injured. Father Kamal Hussain died on March 09, 2023 during treatment.
The police investigated and presented the chargesheet in the court. After examining the statements of the witnesses examined by Assistant District Government Advocate Sanjay Srivastava and the evidence available on the file, the court found the accused Shani alias Rajneesh, Toofani, Sujit, Rajneesh Singh alias Nanhka Bhaiya guilty in the case of murder and sentenced them to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 30,000 each.
