The incident is from Kallur village of Sirwar taluk. Here 60-year-old Bhiman lived with his family. The family had dinner at night. The meal included mutton curry. As soon as the family members ate the mutton curry, their health started deteriorating. There was a commotion. Hearing the screams of the family members, the neighbors also reached there. They got scared after looking inside.
Foaming at the mouth
Saw that four people including Bhim were lying on the ground. Foam was coming out of his mouth. On investigation, it was found that all four had died. But two members had stopped breathing. Neighbors immediately informed the police. Police reached the spot and took both the people to the hospital as they had difficulty in breathing. All the four bodies have been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem.
Suicide due to debt?
Police said that Bhiman (60), wife Eramma (54), son Mallesh (19), daughter Parvati (17) died after eating mutton curry. Bhiman and Eramma's second daughter Mallamma (18) and another person are in critical condition. They have been admitted to RIMS Hospital in Raichur. There is a risk of lizards falling while cooking mutton. But another angle has also emerged. According to the police, the family committed suicide as they were unable to bear the burden of debt. At present, the statement of the remaining two members is yet to be recorded. The correct information will be known after their statement. Police is investigating the matter further.
