Lucknow, 04 November (HS). The Foundation Day celebration of Madhya Pradesh was organized at Raj Bhavan on Monday under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel. In the function, folk art, singing and dance of Madhya Pradesh were presented by the artists of Culture Department, Uttar Pradesh, North Central Region Cultural Centre, Prayagraj.
Addressing the function, the Governor appreciated the presentation of the artists. Discussing the rich tribal culture, tourist places, wildlife, rivers and universities of Madhya Pradesh, he said that there are many such places in Madhya Pradesh, where work is being done to preserve and promote folk arts. Mentioning places of religious importance like Panchmarhi and Mahakaleshwar in Ujjain, he also talked about the Tribal Museum of Bhopal, which is run by the tribals.
He described Bandhavgarh and Kanha Tiger Reserve of Madhya Pradesh as wonderful for tiger conservation. The Prime Minister's efforts to establish Asia's largest solar plant in Rewa district of the state were described as unique.
Highlighting the importance of Narmada, an important river of Madhya Pradesh, the Governor said that this river has been given the name of mother in the state. Narmada River provides drinking water as well as electricity, tourism and employment to four states. He shared his memoirs as the Governor of Madhya Pradesh. Emphasizing on the need for basic facilities and compulsory education for the new generation in the backward and terror affected areas of Madhya Pradesh, he said that this will reduce criminal tendencies. He described Madhya Pradesh as a green, scenic and important state from tourism point of view. On this occasion, the Governor visited the exhibition and rangoli based on the culture, food, music, pilgrimage sites and great personalities of Madhya Pradesh at Raj Bhavan. A documentary based on the state of Madhya Pradesh was also screened in the ceremony, in which the folk culture, important places and latest developments of Madhya Pradesh state were shown since its inception. On this occasion, various dignitaries and students from Madhya Pradesh including officials and employees of Raj Bhavan were present in the Raj Bhavan.
