Raipur, 9 September (HS). Shyam Pandey, father of former Rajya Sabha member and senior BJP leader Saroj Pandey, died on Monday morning at Sector 9 Hospital of Bhilai Steel Plant. He breathed his last at the age of 92. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has expressed condolences on his demise by tweeting on social media.
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai wrote that he received the sad news of the death of Pandit Shyam Pandey, father of BJP's National Vice President, sister Saroj Pandey. I pray to Maa Bamleshwari to give peace to his soul and strength to the family in this difficult time. Apart from Chief Minister Sai, MP Vijay Baghel, former Assembly Speaker Prem Prakash Pandey, Vaishali Nagar MLA Rakesh Sen, Bhilai District BJP President Mahesh Verma, Leader of Opposition in Municipal Corporation Bhojraj Sinha, and Deputy Leader of Opposition Daya Singh have expressed deep condolences and paid emotional tributes on the demise of Shyam Pandey.
It is noteworthy that Saroj Pandey's father Shyam Pandey was the principal of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP). He was ill for a long time. He was undergoing treatment at Sector 9 Hospital in Bhilai for the last two and a half years.
