New Delhi, September 03 (HS). The Cricket Advisory Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday appointed former player Ajay Ratra as the new member of the men's selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar. Ratra will replace Salil Ankola in the committee.
According to BCCI, as a selector, Ratra will work closely with the existing members of the selection committee to identify and support the next generation of cricketers who will represent India on the global stage.
Former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Ratra has a lot of experience in domestic and international cricket. He has played 6 Tests and 12 ODIs for India. Representing Haryana, Ratra played more than 90 first-class matches, scoring nearly 4000 runs. Ratra has extensive coaching experience having served as the head coach of Assam, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. He was also part of the Indian team's coaching staff during the ODI series in South Africa in 2023.
