Former PCBA Chairman Prof. joined Congress. Dutta

Guwahati, 17 April (HS). Former Chairman of Assam Pollution Control Board and senior leader Prof. Jawahar Lal Dutta left the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday and joined the Congress. Let it be known that Prof. was very close to Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. Dutta had joined BJP during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections after serving in Congress for more than 30 years. The work done by him while being the Chairman of Assam Pollution Control Board was appreciated at the national level. He was even praised by Nelson Mandela.

There has been happiness in Assam Pradesh Congress over his return to Congress. Professor Dutta was welcomed during a function today at Rajiv Bhawan, the state Congress headquarters. On this occasion, State Congress Vice President Bolin Kuli, party's chief spokesperson Mehndi Alam Bora and many senior leaders were present.
