Former Bari MLA Girraj Singh Malinga has suffered a major setback in the case of assault on Engineer Harshadhipati at the famous Bari Electricity Corporation office. On the orders of the Supreme Court, Girraj Singh Malinga surrendered in the SC-ST court on Wednesday evening. The court has ordered to send Malinga to jail.
On March 28, 2022, Discom engineer Harshadhipati was beaten up by a group of mob at the Bari Vidyut Nigam office. The then Congress MLA Girraj Singh Malinga was accused of assault. The investigation of the case was handed over to CIDCB. CIDCB had arrested Girraj Singh Malinga and sent him to judicial custody. After this Girraj Singh Malinga had approached the High Court. Justice Farzand Ali’s bench in Rajasthan High Court had granted bail to Girraj Singh Malinga. After his release on bail, Girraj Singh Malinga’s supporters and workers took out a procession and organized a meeting. After the meeting was organized, the complainant engineer Harshadhipati had filed a petition in the High Court. The allegation in the petition was that Girraj Singh Malinga had obtained bail by lying and had intimidated and threatened the witnesses by taking out a huge procession.
Hearing in this matter was going on in the High Court for a long time. Accepting the writ of Engineer Harshadhipati, the High Court had rejected the bail application of former MLA Girraj Singh Malinga and directed to send him to judicial custody within a month. After this Girraj Singh Malinga marched to the Supreme Court. After the case reached the Supreme Court, the bench of Justice Subramaniam and Arvind Kumar directed Girraj Singh Malinga to surrender in the court. The Supreme Court has set December 13 as the date for hearing. After Girraj Singh Malinga went into judicial custody, there is despair among his supporters and workers. After Girraj Singh Malinga went to jail, political discussions have also intensified.
After the court ordered to send Girraj Singh Malinga to judicial custody, the police took Malinga on foot through the market. After walking about half a kilometer to the market, Malinga was put in a car and sent to jail.
