Former Deputy CM of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi passed away, breathed his last at the age of 72, was suffering from cancer.

Sushil Kumar Modi passes away: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi passed away. Sushil Modi was among the senior leaders of BJP in Bihar. He was battling a deadly disease like cancer, due to which he died on Monday night at the age of 72.

Recently Sushil Kumar Modi himself had made the news of his cancer public. Sushil Kumar Modi, who was undergoing treatment after suffering from cancer, was admitted to AIIMS Hospital in Delhi, where he breathed his last. There is a wave of mourning in Bihar after his death.

Sushil Kumar Modi was battling cancer for the last 7 months. BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad wrote on Twitter, “Deeply saddened by the demise of a strong leader of Bihar and BJP, former Deputy Chief Minister and my dear elder brother Sushil Modi. He played an important role in the fight against corruption.” Very saddened by his untimely demise.

He had a prominent place in the politics of Bihar. He came to active politics from student politics. It is known that earlier in a tweet on April 3, Sushil Kumar Modi himself had said that he was suffering from a deadly disease like cancer for the last 6 months. Whose information he has also shared with PM Modi.

In a post dated April 3, BJP leader Sushil Modi, while sharing information about his illness, had written, “I have been fighting cancer for the last 6 months. Now I felt the time had come to tell people. I will not be able to do anything in this. I am always grateful and dedicated to the country, Bihar and the party for the Lok Sabha elections.

Sushil Modi was a big face of Bihar politics and BJP. He has held the responsibility of Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister in Bihar Government continuously from 2005 to 2013. Then when Nitish Kumar once again returned to NDA, he again became Deputy CM. In his nearly 33 years of public life, Sushil Modi has been a member of all four houses including Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha, Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly.
