Ranchi, 03 August (HS). Former councillor of Dhurva, Ranchi, Ved Prakash Singh, who was undergoing treatment after being shot by criminals, died on Friday night at AIIMS, Delhi. He was shot by criminals on 7 July in Dhurva. The main accused of this murder, Satyam Pathak and Dheeraj Mishra, are still absconding. However, Ranchi police have arrested Rahul, a resident of Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, involved in the murder and sent him to jail.
Criminals attacked Ved Prakash Singh when he was sitting in a tea stall near Dhurva bus stand on the evening of July 7. During this time, three criminals riding a bike came there. One criminal reached behind Ved Singh on foot with a country-made pistol in his hand and started firing at him. Ved Singh was hit by three bullets in the firing. While two criminals were sitting on the bike. There was a stampede in the tea stall at the time of firing. He was admitted to Paras Hospital in a hurry. In protest against the incident, angry people kept all the shops in the area closed on July 8 demanding the arrest of the criminals.
Police investigation revealed that Dheeraj Mishra had told Rahul that in the year 2018, he had gone to Ranchi in his Scorpio during Dussehra, and he had a quarrel with Ward Councilor Ved Prakash Singh of Dhurva Ranchi for driving the Scorpio into the Dussehra procession at Dhurva bus stand. Dheeraj Mishra had told that Ved Prakash Singh and his supporters had beaten him up and also broke the Scorpio. Dheeraj had told Rahul that after his sister's wedding, he would take revenge by shooting Ved Prakash Singh. On this, Rahul had said that you give me some money, we will live together. After this, there was talk between the two about giving 70 thousand rupees for this incident.
