Former Congress MLA Harminder Singh Jassi joins BJP

New Delhi, May 23 (HS). Former Congress MLA Harminder Singh Jassi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday. Harminder Singh Jassi took membership of the party in the presence of Union Minister of State Rajiv Chandrashekhar at the BJP headquarters on Thursday. He is the relative of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Ram Rahim.

Jassi Talwandi has been MLA from Sabo seat. Apart from this, he was elected MLA from Bathinda Urban in 2007. He has been a minister in the council of ministers of former Punjab Chief Ministers HS Brar and Rajinder Kaur Bhattal. He was appointed Chief Parliamentary Secretary during the tenure of former CM Beant Singh of the state.

On this occasion, Rajiv Chandrashekhar said that Jassi has been a three-time MLA from Punjab and a two-time minister. He has joined the BJP to help Prime Minister Narendra Modi in fulfilling his resolve to develop India.

On this occasion, Harminder Singh Jassi said that he has joined BJP due to the policies and inspiration of the Prime Minister. He said that the country is progressing under the leadership of Modi. The country's image has become very good across the world.
