Former CM, former Foreign Minister SM Krishna passes away!

Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister, Union External Affairs Minister, former State Governor SM Krishna (Former CM S.M.Krishna Died) passed away today. SM Krishna was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city for the last few days due to age-related illness. But today (December 10) at around 2.30 am, SM Krishna died at his home in Sadashivnagar. He was 93 years old. At present, dignitaries, politicians and Swamiji have expressed grief over the demise of SM Krishna.

Arrangements for public funeral today:

The mortal remains of former Chief Minister SM Krishna will be kept at his Sadashivnagar residence today for the public to have their last glimpse. Later, the last rites will be performed tomorrow morning at Somanahalli, Mandya district, Maddur, DCM DK Shivakumar, who is a long-time friend and relative of SM Krishna, said in a media statement.

SM Krishna Politics:

Besides, the credit for holding the post of Chief Minister in Karnataka politics also goes to the name of SM Krishna. SM Krishna, who spent a long political career for the Congress party, later joined BJP at a young age. He entered politics as an independent candidate from Maddur assembly constituency in 1962 and won, but later contested from Maddur in 1967 from Praja Socialist Party but lost. Later, he won the Mandya by-election in 1968 by contesting as a Congress candidate and entered national politics.

SM Krishna Life:

SM Krishna was born on 1 May 1932 in Somanahalli, Maddur taluk of Mandya district. SM Krishna’s full name is Somanahalli Mallaya Krishna. After completing his primary education in Hattur, he did his secondary education at Sri Ramakrishna College, Mysore. After this he completed BA degree from Mysore. He did his college education from Maharaja’s College, Mysore and later completed his law degree from University Law College. Furthermore, SM Krishna, who was notably a highly educated politician, graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, USA and the George Washington University Law School in Washington DC.
