Former Chief Minister’s son filed special petition, Kapil Sibal cross-examined

Bilaspur, 12 November (HS). Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, has filed a special petition in the Chhattisgarh High Court through his advocate. The hearing of which was held on Tuesday in the double bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Kumar Sinha and Amitendra Kishore Prasad. During this hearing, senior advocate Kapil Sibal presented the petitioner’s side. Strongly cross-examined his client for his Google ID and password and termed the demand for Google ID and password as a violation of the privacy rights enshrined in the Constitution.

At the same time, Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh Ramesh Sinha said that asking for personal information of someone’s mobile can be a right to privacy. Actually, the whole matter is being said to be related to the assault on Professor Vinod Verma of Khubchand Baghel College, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. The son of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was also questioned in this case. Nine people have been made accused in the case of assault on the professor, which also includes the names of people associated with former Chief Minister’s son Chaitanya. The police also interrogated him for four hours regarding this. The police investigation is ongoing. In this case, police have already taken CDR details, now they also want Google ID and password. During the hearing, the Chief Justice heard both the sides and scheduled the next hearing in two weeks.
