Mirzapur, 15 November (HS). Just before the Majhwan Assembly by-election, Bahujan Samaj Party has suffered a major setback. Manish Tripathi, former Lok Sabha election candidate from BSP, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday.

BJP Kashi region president Dilip Patel got Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath party membership before his program in Chandaipur. Since Madhya Pradesh Assembly is a Brahmin dominated area, Brahmins play an important role in the elections. Manish Tripathi’s joining BJP can have a huge impact on Brahmin votes. In the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Anupriya Patel of Apna Dal (S) was victorious by getting 4 lakh 71 thousand 631 votes. His nearest rival Samajwadi Party candidate Rameshchandra Bind got 4 lakh 33 thousand 821 votes. Anupriya Patel won the Lok Sabha elections by about 37,810 votes. Whereas Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Manish Tripathi had got one lakh, 44 thousand 446 votes.
