Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has directed for the development of tourism and all-round infrastructure facilities in the areas including Dwarka, the ancient pilgrimage area and the birthplace of Lord Shri Krishna, Bet Dwarka, which gained worldwide fame from Sudarshan Setu and Shivrajpur, which has the unique identity of Blue Flag Beach. 'Dwarka-Okha Urban Development Authority' has been formed.
The Chief Minister has approved the formation of 'Dwarka-Okha Urban Development Authority' for the municipalities of Okha and Dwarka and other areas including Ahambrada, Surajkaradi and Bet Dwarka and Shivrajpur and Varwala Gram Panchayats for a total area of 10,721 hectares. The ancient pilgrimage site Dwarka, situated on the banks of the Arabian Sea and the banks of the Gomti River, is one of the four holy places of Hindu religion. Apart from the Dwarkadhish temple, this pilgrimage area with Shankaracharya's monastery and many temples is famous as a religious city. Crores of devotees from across the country and the world come to see Lord Dwarkadhish as well as the nearby historical sites.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently made the visit to Bet Dwarka more convenient for tourists from all over the world by inaugurating the more than two kilometer long 'Sudarshan Setu' connecting Bet Dwarka with Dwarka. Along with these two religious places, Shivrajpur, which has the status of the only 'Blue Flag Beach' of the state with its mesmerizing beauty of bright white sand and clear blue water, located on the shores of the Arabian Sea and near Dwarka, is also a unique center of tourist attraction. .
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, with the overall vision of providing a safe environment as well as a satisfactory experience to the travelers and tourists visiting all these places, to provide basic civic amenities in this entire area and ensure its proper and effective operation. 'Dwarka-Okha Urban Development Authority' has been formed to accelerate the development of infrastructure.
Collector of Devbhoomi Dwarka district as Chairman of this Authority and Secretary of Pavitra Yatradham Development Board as Member, Chief Town Planner, Dwarka District Development Officer, Regional Municipal Commissioner, Rajkot and Additional Resident of Devbhoomi Dwarka District as Member Secretary. Collector has been included. Apart from this, a provision has been made to appoint 4 locally elected members and the District Panchayat President as members in this authority. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department will also prepare a Development Plan (DP) under the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act 1976 by constituting this 'Dwarka-Okha Urban Development Authority'. Not only this, advance planning can also be done through these development plans and more basic facilities like roads, street lights, gardens and drainage can be provided in this area.
Due to this important decision of the Chief Minister, religious and tourism activities as well as commercial units will get a boost in this entire area, the possibilities of new investment will also increase and new employment opportunities and new standards of economic development will be established. Through the formation of this authority in the resolution of developed India given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat will be able to carve a unique place in the field of development with a happy coordination of modernity with religiosity.
