Khunti, 7 December (Hindustan Reporter). The Forest Department team chased a pickup van carrying illegal sal bottles from Torpa to Sisai and seized it from Sisai. The pickup van was loaded with 12 bottles of illegal liquor. This precious wood was being smuggled. Forest area officer Surendra Kumar said on Saturday that secret information was received that illegal sal bota was going to be loaded in a pick-up and smuggled from Tapkara area.

After the information, the Forest Department team conducted a vehicle checking operation near Baski Mor. Meanwhile a pickup van was seen coming. As soon as he saw the forest department personnel, the driver of the pickup started running away at high speed. The Forest Department team chased and caught the vehicle from Sisai. There was a bottle of 12 pieces of salt loaded on the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled from the spot. The smugglers had loaded tarpaulin and kutti on the sal boat. In-charge Forester Torpa Avinash Lugun, In-charge Forester Rania Nitesh Kesari, Praveen Singh, Sanjay Sahu, Kamlesh Binjhiya, Rakesh Kumar, Rahul Mahato etc. were involved in the raid.
