Assam Government Policy : Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has made a big announcement today (August 4). He said that our government will soon bring a 'new resident policy' in which only people born in the state will be eligible for government jobs. The main objective of our decision is to deal with the changing demographic situation of the state. He also said that the demographic situation of the state is a matter of great concern for us and a question of life and death.
Government jobs in the state are only for people born in Assam
He said that the Assam government will soon introduce a new domicile policy, in which only people born in Assam will be eligible to get state government jobs. We had promised one lakh government jobs with priority to local people before the elections. Everything will become clear after the list is published.
Decision in the interest of the local population of Assam
The Chief Minister further said that we had earlier also raised the issue of the need for population control measures. Apart from this, there is a condition to identify Bengali-speaking Bangladeshi Muslims, known as 'Miya', as locals. However, the government's new domicile policy is expected to be part of Sarma's efforts to address the issue of illegal immigration and protect the interests of the local population of Assam.
