New Delhi, June 29 (HS). The India Meteorological Department has forecast the arrival of monsoon in the entire country in the next 48 hours. It has also indicated heavy rainfall in North West, Central and East India for four to five days. The forecast says that there will be torrential rain in most parts of Northeast India.
Departmental scientists have said that the southwest monsoon has reached the entire country except some areas of Haryana, Punjab and western Uttar Pradesh. Apart from the national capital Delhi-NCR, heavy rains occurred in different parts of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir yesterday. It is already raining in the southern states.
Officials of the Meteorological Department said that the southwest monsoon has advanced into some more parts of West Rajasthan, remaining parts of East Rajasthan, some parts of Haryana, some more areas of West Uttar Pradesh, remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, some more parts of East Uttar Pradesh and remaining parts of Uttarakhand. The northern boundary of the monsoon is passing through Jaisalmer, Churu, Bhiwani, Delhi, Aligarh, Kanpur, Ghazipur, Gonda, Kheri, Moradabad, Una, Pathankot and Jammu.
Due to the influence of western disturbance and monsoon, during the last 24 hours, apart from Delhi-NCR, Chhattisgarh, West Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Konkan and Goa have received moderate rainfall at different places. Heavy rainfall has occurred at different places in Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh. Heavy rainfall has been recorded in different areas of Punjab, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and Tamil Nadu.
