For the first time in the world, a neurostimulator was fitted into the skull of a VI patient

London: Alcoholism is a big problem all over the world. It is a brain disease that occurs due to disturbances in the functioning of the brain. People who have frequent seizures have to depend on medication.

There is hope for such patients in Britain. For the first time in the world, a device has been implanted in the skull of a violent patient. With the help of this device, the number of violent attacks can be reduced.

This experiment has been done on 13-year-old Oran Nolson of Britain. A neurostimulator has been fitted in his skull. Nolson suffered severe seizures.

Knowlson has become the first patient in the world to undergo such a test. His surgery lasted for eight hours in October 2023. Since then, many good changes have been seen in his life.

Now he can do everything he likes like watching TV, horse riding etc. The surgery was performed jointly by University College London, King's College Hospital and the University of Oxford.

Consultant paediatric neurosurgeon Martin Tisdale said: “We are delighted with the huge benefit this surgery has brought to Oran and his family. His quality of life has improved following this surgery.
