Many dramatic incidents were seen after the elections held on February 8 in Pakistan. After this, it is being said in local media reports that Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Peoples Party will form a joint government in Pakistan in the beginning of March.
On the other hand, elections were held in different provinces in Pakistan and in Sindh province, Pakistan Peoples Party has announced to appoint a Christian leader as the Deputy Speaker in the Sindh Legislative Assembly for the first time in the history of Pakistan. Party leader Bilawal Bhutto said that the members of the Legislative Assembly will take oath today and Navid Anthony has been appointed as the Deputy Speaker, Awais Shah as the Speaker and Syed Murad Ali Shah as the Chief Minister.
He said that all the elected leaders of the party are expected to perform better than their previous tenure and the new government will take strict action to stop corruption in Sindh province.
Notably, Deputy Speaker Naveed Anthony is a Roman Catholic and was elected to the Sindh Legislative Assembly from a minority seat in the 2018 elections. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly from 2018 to 2023.
