World number six Jessica Pegula made it to her first Grand Slam final by coming back from the first set down. Pegula will now face second seed Aryna Sabalenko of Belarus in the women's singles of the US Open tennis tournament. Pegula defeated Karolina Muchova 1-6, 6-4, 6-2. Sabalenko defeated American Emma Navarro 6-3, 7-6 after reaching the second set tiebreaker.

Pegula, 30, became the oldest player to reach a Grand Slam final for the first time in the Open era. She also became the third American to reach the final over the age of 30. She joined the club of Navratilova and Serena Williams.
