Ranchi, 16 February (HS). The national workshop related to urban livelihoods, organized under the joint aegis of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, UNDP India and Directorate of Urban Administration, Urban Development and Housing Department, concluded on Friday. There was an in-depth discussion on the topic of women empowerment and economic self-reliance in the workshop. An action plan was made on how to implement the new strategy and the excellent work of the states in the entire country in future.
On the occasion, Union Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Rahul Kapoor said that the poor women of the urban areas should work together with the community for their livelihood development, empowerment, health, education and employment through their strong structural institutions. Needs to be done. To empower women economically, work will have to be done on urban livelihood eco system. Jharkhand state is doing better work in this direction.
Urban Development Secretary Arva Rajkamal and Director Urban Administration Aditya Kumar Anand reiterated their commitment to effectively benefit from the schemes of the Central and State Government for the all-round development of women self-help groups and street vendors. Before the workshop on the second day, the participants were given a tour of Birsa Munda Memorial Park, Birsa Munda Museum and a yoga session. Other speakers also addressed the workshop.
