Food Supply Minister held a meeting with concerned departments regarding preparations for Ijtima.

Delhi’s Food Supply Minister and Ballimaran MLA Imran Hussain held a meeting on Tuesday regarding the preparations for the Ijtima to be organized at Idgah from 6 to 8 December and also visited the venue of the event, Shahi Idgah. During this, Minister Imran Hussain gave necessary instructions to all the concerned officers and agencies for the successful organization of the Ijtima. Instructed DJB to use super suckers to ensure better drainage system and clean the drains around Shahi Idgah.

On this occasion, along with the councilor of the area, officials of related government departments including Revenue Department, DDMA, DUSIB, DJB, MCD, Health Department, Fire Services, BSES, Delhi Police, Delhi Traffic Police, PWD were present.

Minister Imran Hussain directed officials to ensure adequate sanitation and cleanliness in the roads and streets around Shahi Eidgah. Minister Imran Hussain also directed the MCD to provide adequate number of sanitation workers for cleaning the roads and streets around the Eidgah.

Imran Hussain said that MCD should deploy adequate number of tippers for garbage disposal on priority basis. Minister Imran Hussain also directed MCD and PWD to repair the roads and footpaths around Eidgah on priority basis. The concerned officials were also instructed to ensure pruning of tree branches in coordination with the Eidgah Committee.

Imran Hussain said that around 4 to 5 lakh people are expected to attend the Ijtima programme. For the convenience of the visitors, the Minister directed the Delhi Jal Board officials to maintain the drainage system and use super suckers for thorough cleaning of the drains around Shahi Idgah.

Imran Hussain also directed BSES to deploy adequate staff to ensure power supply during the event.

During the meeting, Minister Imran Hussain also reviewed the preparations to provide essential and emergency services (such as medical camps, ambulances, fire protection, toilets, security etc.) to the participants of the Ijtema programme. The minister also stressed the need for deployment of disaster management teams and adequate number of police personnel around the venue. Necessary instructions were issued to Delhi Traffic Police to ensure smooth traffic in the surrounding area during the event. Minister Imran Hussain also issued necessary instructions for greening the venue including provision of 24-hour health facilities and ambulance, fire brigade, security checking of visitors, civil defence, repair of floors and arrangement of flower pots.
