Food safety officials raid establishment in Bareilly, 15 samples collected

Bareilly, 18 November (HS). A major raid was conducted today by the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department, Bareilly. Food Safety Officers led by Assistant Commissioner (Food)-II Shri Apoorva Srivastava and Chief Food Safety Officer Shri Akshay Goyal raided the establishment of M/s Five Elements Hospitality (Pind Baluchi) located at P-5/11, Deen Dayalpuram, Bareilly. . This action was taken with the aim of preventing the sale of adulterated food and beverages.

The team of food safety officers included Mansingh Niranjan, Vinay Kumar Yadav, Raghavendra Pratap Verma and Inderjit Singh. During this period, a total of 15 food samples were collected from the establishment, which included Keem, Dahi Fojan Ice Candy, Chana Dal, Onion with Vinegar, Tomato Gravy, Kabuli Chana, Kadhai Masala Gravy, Paneer, Khowa, Raw Mango Syrup (Mala Brand), Basmati. Rice and tandoori chicken were included.

Apart from this, 07 packets of “Use by date” expired English Oven Bread were also found from the establishment, which were seized. These samples are being sent to the Government Food Laboratory, Lucknow for testing, and action will be taken as per rules on receiving the test report.

Food safety officials also observed the cleanliness system at the establishment and found that it was not satisfactory. In this regard, officials have instructed the establishment to improve the cleanliness system. If the instructions are not followed, the food license of the establishment may be suspended or revoked. Food safety officials also clarified that after testing all the samples, strict action will be taken as per rules in future on receipt of reports.
