Food processing will give new impetus to farmers’ income and youth employment, M.Sc. Keshav Maurya congratulates on completion of 10 years of food technology


Keshav Maurya congratulated Government Institute of Food Processing and Technology, Lucknow for M.Sc. A grand ceremony was organized on Wednesday on the occasion of successful completion of 10 years of Food Technology course. A fresher’s party was also organized to welcome the newly admitted students in the program. The chief guest was Additional Chief Secretary, Horticulture and Food Processing Department, Shri B.L. Meena remains. Special Secretary Shri Rajkamal Yadav along with senior departmental officers, teachers and students were present.

Shri Maurya said that through the Pradhan Mantri Micro Food Processing Enterprises Upgradation Scheme (PMFME) and Uttar Pradesh Food Processing Industry Policy-2023 of the state government, special emphasis is being laid on encouraging food processing units, promoting entrepreneurship and providing employment opportunities to the youth. Linking agricultural produce produced in villages to processing at the local level helps farmers get better markets and prices and also strengthens the rural economy.

He called upon the students to link their academic achievements with research, innovation and startups and work on new challenges and possibilities of food processing sector through modern technology. He said that the institute should play an important role in preparing skilled human resources in the coming years and providing technical base to the food processing sector of the state.
