Baghpat, 25 October (Hindustan Reporter). In Baghpat district on Friday, the Food Department claimed to have seized 500 kg of adulterated mawa from a vehicle. This Mawa was going to Delhi by car. The driver and owner of the vehicle are said to be absconding.
The Food Department has informed that under the Diwali special campaign, the Food Safety Department team stopped and checked the vehicle running from village Dhanaura Silvernagar on Delhi Saharanpur road at 07:30 am on the information of carrying adulterated khoya. In which about 5 quintals of khoya was found stored in foul smelling and unhygienic condition and no one came forward when asked about its owner. After this, on suspicion of adulteration, the sample was collected and the khoya was taken to the nearby municipal Baghpat dumping ground and immediately destroyed. Manvendra Singh, Assistant Commissioner Food, Rajesh Gupta, Chief Food Safety Officer, Neha Chaudhary, Food Safety Officer were present on the occasion.
