Katihar, 02 November (HS). Katihar Railway Division's ADRM Manoj Kumar Singh conducted a surprise inspection of Katihar station late last night. He inspected platform numbers one to three and gave several guidelines regarding passenger facilities and safety. This inspection was done to check the convenience and safety of the passengers.
During the inspection, ADRM Shri Singh inspected several points regarding safety and security of passenger amenities along with night opening of bogies of Amrapali Express train after placement of the train at the station from the point of view of passenger safety. He gave several instructions to the concerned railway officials for the convenience of the passengers.
In this context, ADRM Shri Singh said that the main objective of the inspection is to take stock of the huge crowd of passengers at the station and the inconvenience caused to them at night. For this, apart from Katihar, in Katihar Railway Division, railway officers have been deputed for 24-hour supervision at Barsoi, Kishanganj, New Jalpaiguri, Purnia, Araria, Forbesganj and Jogbani stations from October 30 to November 15 for 24-hour supervision.
Apart from this, many facilities have been provided by the railway administration at the station for taking bath in Ganga in Manihari on the occasion of upcoming Chhath festival in Katihar Railway Division. In view of the convenience of the passengers, along with the deployment of additional security personnel of RPF and Railway Police, arrangements for continuous announcement at the station, drinking water, adequate electricity etc. at the station regarding the additional special train running for devotees etc. in Katihar Manihari Railway section. Instructions have also been given in this direction.
During this inspection, many officers and employees including ACM Kumar Jitendra Singh, RPF Inspector Rakesh Kumar, CMI Rampravesh Yadav, JB Paswan, Station Superintendent Amit Sagar were present.
