Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi extradition: Britain may soon take action against fugitives like Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi. Media sources have revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has discussed this issue with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and appealed for the extradition of the fugitive businessman. Therefore, Britain seems likely to take this step.

Prime Minister Modi met the British Prime Minister at the G20 summit held in Brazil today. During this, both the leaders agreed to speed up the work related to migration. According to media reports, Central Bureau of Investigation Director Praveen Sood had recently demanded the extradition of these two fugitive businessmen along with British Security Minister Dan Jarvis.

After taking oath as Prime Minister, PM Modi met Keir Starmer for the first time. After congratulating each other on becoming Prime Minister, the two leaders discussed various issues related to economy, trade, new and emerging technology, research, innovation, green economy.

Absconding in money laundering and fraud cases

Indian businessman Nirav Deepak Modi fled to Britain after being accused of money laundering and fraud. Earlier, Vijay Mallya had also fled to Britain after committing a scam of Rs 9000 crore. Keir Starmer can take action against these two fugitives.

Nirav Modi’s property confiscated

In March 2018, Nirav Modi was reported to be in the UK. Where they are taking political asylum. In June 2019, Swiss authorities had seized assets totaling $6 million deposited in Nirav Modi’s Swiss bank account. Nirav Modi had committed a scam of Rs 28000 crore from Punjab National Bank and fled abroad. The latter declared himself a willful defaulter.
