Heavy rain in Afghanistan: At least 35 people have been killed and more than 230 injured due to floods and heavy rains in Jalalabad and Nangarhar regions of eastern Afghanistan. This information was given by Qureshi Badloon, head of the Information and Culture Department.

Badlun further said, 'Due to heavy storm and rain, people's houses, trees, walls and roofs collapsed, causing deaths. The death toll is expected to increase. The injured and the bodies of the victims have been brought to Nangarhar Regional Hospital and Fatima-tul-Zahra Hospital.'

The tragedy comes after flash floods hit Afghanistan in May, killing hundreds of people and inundating farmland in the country, where 80 percent of the population depends on agriculture for survival.
