Floods wreak havoc in Assam, 26 dead, 15 districts affected

On one hand, heat wave is becoming a problem in India, on the other hand, torrential rain is also becoming a problem. Due to torrential rain in Assam, the flood situation in the state is serious. The weather in Assam is not normal and it has been raining since May 28. More than 1.6 lakh people are affected by floods in 15 districts of Assam. Also, 26 people have died so far due to the terrible floods.

People are forced to take shelter in shelters

According to the flood report of Assam Disaster Management Authority, one person died due to drowning in floods in Hailakandi district on Tuesday. According to ASDMA, so far 26 people have died due to floods in the state. There has been a huge loss of life and property due to floods in the state. Fields were flooded, people's houses were submerged. Due to this, there is a shortage of food items in the state and people are forced to take shelter in shelter camps.

The farm was destroyed by the severe flood

On the other hand, the situation in Karimganj district of Assam has become very bad, so far 1.52 lakh people have been affected by the floods, including 41,711 children. The condition of 225 villages is also very bad. People's houses are flooded, there is no food left. After which about 22 thousand people have taken shelter in the shelter camp. According to the ASDMA flood report, flood water has destroyed 1378.64 hectares of agricultural land. The flood-affected districts include Vishwanath Lakhimpur, Hojai, Bongaigaon, Nalbari, Tamulpur, Udalguri, Darang, Dhemaji, Hailakandi, Karimganj, Hailakandi, Goalpara, Nagaon, Chirang and Kokrajhar.

Chief Minister held a meeting

The floods have affected not only humans but also animals, 93,895 cattle have suffered heavy losses in the state due to the floods. After which Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma held a meeting with the state police and Kaziranga National Park administration to ensure the safety of the animals of the national park in the flood situation.
