Patna, 04 October (HS). On Friday, flood victims burnt tires and blocked the main road on Muzaffarpur-Sitamarhi National Highway (NH-77) in North Bihar, disrupting traffic. The angry people said that there was no one to listen to us. That's why they are living their lives on the road and the district administration is sleeping like Kumbhakarni.

People allege that before feeding food to the flood victims, disaster management and Muzaffarpur Orai officials got their thumb impressions done. No one was even given food without putting his thumb on it. People got angry because of this. Angered by the indifference of the administration during the floods in Bihar, the flood victims burnt tires in the middle of the road with bamboo sticks and blocked the Muzaffarpur-Sitamarhi road. The furious flood victims chased the police and pelted stones during this period. Police personnel ran away from there to save their lives. A large number of police forces have been sent to the spot.

During this, the angry flood victims demonstrated fiercely and raised slogans against the government and its officials. People said that these people come only to take photographs but do not help. No arrangements of any kind have been made for the flood victims. Officers are also busy getting photographs taken.

It is noteworthy that about 17 districts in Bihar are affected by floods. In Muzaffarpur district too, dozens of villages in many blocks are affected by floods. Meanwhile, there is no complete system of relief given by the government to the flood victims in Muzaffarpur, due to which the anger of the flood victims suddenly erupted in Muzaffarpur. Due to the increase in the water level of Bagmati river in Muzaffarpur district, more than two dozen panchayats of Aurai, Katra and Gaighat blocks are completely affected by floods. Flood affected people are living in high places as well as on main roads. The arrangements made by the administration at many places are not complete.

However, after the decrease in the water level of Bagmati river in two days, people had not even taken a sigh of relief when the embankment of Lakhandei river broke in Ramkhetari Panchayat of Aurai block, due to which about a dozen panchayats were affected by flood. Recently, the embankment of Bagmati river was broken in Sitamarhi, due to which many panchayats of Aurai block of Muzaffarpur were affected. The people of Aurai block have had to face the tragedy of rivers. In such a situation, people have made Muzaffarpur-Sitamarhi NH 77 their home for the last several days.
