Well-known e-commerce website Flipkart is still expanding its business. This e-commerce website, which till now sells goods only online, has launched its UPI payment option. Flipkart has launched this online payment system in collaboration with Axis Bank. Due to which now Flipkart has also come in the category of Amazon Pay, Phone Pay, Google Pay.
All Flipkart users across India can now scan QR codes from Flipkart to pay utility bills, recharge mobiles, transfer money to each other. That means, all the financial transactions which can be done in other payment apps can now be done through Flipkart also.
Now when the clouds of crisis are looming over Paytm, to take advantage of the situation in the market, UPI has been launched by Flipkart. It is noteworthy that Flipcard and PhonePe separated from each other in December 2022. Phone Pay is also an important player in the UPI market.
How to activate Flipkart UPI?
Flipkart UPI app is currently available on both Android and iOS platforms. You can use Flipkart UPI by updating the latest version of Flipkart app from Google Play Store or App Store.
Once your app is updated, users can proceed by going to the Scan & Pay option within the app, linking or choosing their UPI account, selecting the bank. Here Flipkart verifies your bank details through a message.
Once your Flipkart UPI is activated, Flipkart users can perform financial activities like mobile recharge, bill payments. Here users will not have to pay any convenience fee. On top of this, Flipkart is also giving a discount of Rs 10 to the users for some time.
The credit card can also be linked to Flipkart's UPI service as a credit card. This system already has this facility. Due to this feature, a large number of users can be attracted towards Flipkart's UPI service.
Earlier in 2016, Flipkart had purchased PhonePe, since then Flipkart has been working in the digital payments sector. However, during that time the UPI service was not so prevalent in India. Under the leadership of Flipkart, PhonePay grew rapidly and had a market share of around 50 percent. But in December 2022, Flipkart and PhonePe parted ways.
Now that Flipkart has relaunched its UPI service, the digital payment sector in India may get a boost. Especially when a service like Paytm is in trouble, Flipkart can get new customers.
