New Delhi, May 18 (Hindustan Reporter) A special trading session has been organized in the domestic stock market today for testing the disaster recovery site. Under this, trading was done in the first session till 10 am, while the second session would start from 11:15 am and continue till 12:30 pm. In the first trading session today, both Sensex and Nifty indices closed flat after facing ups and downs.
At the beginning of the first session of the special trading session, BSE Sensex opened at the level of 73,921.46 points with a symbolic gain of 4.43 points. With the support of buying in early trade itself, this index rose by 158.01 points and reached the level of 74,075.04 points. But after this, due to selling pressure, this index dived to 73,920.63 points. After continuous buying and selling in the market, Sensex ended the first trading session at 73,959.63 points with a gain of 42.60 points.
Like Sensex, NSE's Nifty started trading today at 22,512.85 points with a gain of 46.75 points. Due to minor buying after the market opened, this index jumped to 22,520.25 points. But after some time, due to selling pressure, this index fell to 22,470.05 points. After continuous buying and selling in the market, Nifty ended the first trading session at 22,481.90 points with a gain of 15.80 points.
In the first trading session, there was active trading in 2,130 shares on the National Stock Exchange. Of these, 1,604 shares were trading in the green after earning profits, while 526 shares were trading in the red after incurring losses.
Before this, on the last trading day on Friday, the Sensex had closed at the level of 73,917.03 points with a gain of 253.31 points or 0.34 percent. At the same time, Nifty jumped 62.25 points or 0.28 percent and ended Friday's trading at the level of 22,466.10 points.
