Five teenagers who came from Etah to Kasganj drowned in the canal, search continues

Kasganj 11 April (His). Five youths, who were making selfies and reels while bathing in the Hazara canal located at the mouth of Kasganj, drowned in the canal. After hearing the screams, people nearby tried to save him, but could not locate him. On receiving the information, police and divers started rescue operations. Administrative officials including DM-SP have also reached the spot. The search continued till late evening but no one could be found. All the youth are residents of neighboring district Etah, who had come here after Eid to have fun.

The incident happened on Thursday around 2.30 pm. After celebrating Eid, eight teenagers, residents of Nagla Pothi of Etah, came in an e-rickshaw to take bath at Hazara Canal near Tatarpur. All are between 15 and 18 years of age. Among them, four teenagers went to take bath in the canal, while four were making videos. Meanwhile, the four teenagers who were bathing were swept away in the strong current. A teenager making the video jumped into the canal to save them, but he too was swept away by the strong current of water. Seeing this scene, the three teenagers standing on the bank of the canal started making noise. Hearing the sound, people nearby ran to save the teenagers drowning in the canal. The names of the children who drowned are Asim son of Akil Khan, resident of Mohalla Nagla Potha of Etah, Zahid son of Mehndi Hasan, Salman son of Yusuf, Shahid son of Hameed and Abhishek resident of Bahatarpur Etah. Abhishek is a friend of all four children.

District Magistrate Sudha Verma reached the spot, Superintendent of Police Aparna Rajat Kaushik reached the spot for a long time. He conducted a rescue operation with the team of regional divers and PAC divers in search of the teenager. The search for five teenagers who drowned in the canal is continuing till the time of writing.
