Five people died due to drowning in Nashik's Bhavli reservoir.

Mumbai, May 21 (HS). Five people died due to drowning in Bhawali reservoir near Igatpuri in Nashik district on Tuesday afternoon. Among the dead are two young men and three girls. Local citizens have taken out all the bodies from the reservoir. Igatpuri police has sent all the bodies to Igatpuri government hospital for post-mortem. The team of Igatpuri police station is investigating this matter.

According to the police, five people living in Jail Road in Nashik district had come to visit Bhawali reservoir located in Igatpuri. All five of them went down to the reservoir to take bath in the evening but due to lack of knowledge of the depth of the water, all five started drowning in the reservoir. Local citizens tried to save these five but could not be saved. As soon as the information about this incident was received, the police reached the spot and sent the five bodies taken out from the reservoir to Igatpuri Government Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased have been identified as Anas Khan Dildar Khan (15 years), Nazia Imran Khan (15 years), Meejaba Dildar Khan (16 years), Hanif Ahmed Shaikh (24 years) and Iqra Dildar Khan (14 years). The team of Igatpuri police station has handed over the deceased to their families.
