Ranchi, March 12 (Hindustan Reporter) Police have arrested five members of two different bike theft gangs from two different police station areas of Ranchi. The arrested thieves include Suraj Kumar, Kaushalendra Kumar, Taufik Alam, Vitu Kumar and Aditya Sharma. Three bullets, bikes of four different companies, lock breaking material, fake number plate and a mobile phone have been recovered from them.
SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha told in the press conference on Tuesday that three bike thieves have been caught from Daily Market police station area and two from Chutiya police station area. Three members from one gang and two members from another gang have been arrested. Five stolen bikes along with stolen bullets have been recovered from them.
The SSP said that to prevent vehicle theft and recover stolen vehicles, strict instructions have been given to all police station in-charges for intensive and effective anti-crime checking and to trace the gang of criminals involved. In the same sequence, during anti-crime checking in Dailymarket police station area, three suspected drivers along with their vehicle were caught and interrogated and when the related documents were demanded, no documents were presented.
During interrogation, it was found that all three persons are from Bihar, who live in Ranchi and form a bike theft gang and carry out incidents of bike theft in various police station areas of the district. At the behest of the arrested three, a total of six bikes, many fake number plates and tools used in theft were recovered from Lalpur, Kanke and Angada police station areas. Besides, arrest and raid action is being taken against other criminals involved in this gang. The arrested Marwari College student Suraj Kumar is the main leader of the gang. He told that he had learned the method of bike theft on YouTube.
