Five members of interstate vehicle theft gang selling stolen vehicles in Nepal-Delhi arrested

Lucknow, 23 November (HS). Five vicious thieves of vehicle theft gang were arrested in Gomtinagar police station area on Saturday. Four-wheelers, electronic equipment and other things used in theft have been recovered. Stolen vehicles are taken to Delhi, Bihar and Nepal and sold at throwaway prices. Cases are registered against them in various police stations of many states.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) told a press conference on Saturday that the Surveillance Crime Branch team has arrested five members of the interstate vehicle theft gang near Sahara Bridge. The arrested accused are Aditya Singh, Vipal Diwakar, resident of Panki, Kanpur city, Raju Yadav, Amit Singh, resident of Chhapra, Bihar and Vipin Kesarwani, resident of Harisenganj, Prayagraj. Four cars have been recovered from them.

He said that the accused buy vehicle reprogramming machines, jammers, electronic keys and other equipment online from Dubai. Then they get organized and steal number plates of vehicles parked outside their homes in different states. By reprogramming the machine ordered online by putting fake number plate, they make a new key, unlock the car and steal it from there. After this, they used to remove fake number plates from stolen vehicles in other states, replace them with real number plates and sell the vehicles at throwaway prices in Delhi, Bihar states and Nepal and divide the money among themselves. With the remaining money they would get the stolen goods again. Cases are registered against all of them in different states.
